Carly Fiorina Just Took Political Ads to the Next Level

February 5, 2010

I will never pretend to be either politically well-informed or dumb enough to believe everything I see on television, but this is just ridiculous.

I mean, I get it. Tom Campbell is claiming to be something he’s not. Duh. But doesn’t that just make him a politician?

Also, WHAT IS WITH ALL THE SHEEP? Why the hell are they always chewing? Is the implication that Tom Campbell is a sheep rather than the shepherd he should be? What is the metaphor you’re going for here?

The pigs are easy enough to understand. Pigs are pretty much = “The Man” or whatever. I suppose we could be the sheep, but, again, why are we always eating? American obesity is no joke, and I don’t appreciate being called fat by a state I don’t even live in.

I’ve never expected much when it comes to political propaganda, but watching that sheep get slowly raised into the air, only to be dropped flat on its ass… I just died a little inside.

And what was up with that epic music? I feel like charging into battle against gas taxes and false fiscal conservatives with my flaming sword of truth in the name of civil responsibility!

Honestly GOP, if you’re going to keep riling up the senior citizens then you’re going to have to start dealing with them. I know that if my grandmother saw this, SOMETHING would enrage her.

I guess this blogger’s question is: when did politicians stop shaking hands and kissing babies and start pretending to be religious shepherds that control our destiny? I have no desire to be referred to as a hungry sheep, nor do I believe that Carly Fiorina will be in any way less inept or less susceptible to Fat Cat oil companies than Tom Campbell because she spent three and a half expensive minutes making bizarre sheep metaphors.
